Pacific Media Centre (PMC) is part of the School of Communication Studies at AUT in Auckland, New Zealand. It was founded in 2007 with a mandate to develop media and journalism research in New Zealand, particularly involving Māori, Pasifika, ethnic and vernacular media topics. Its website hosts a range of Pasifika media resources, including the media freedom monitor Pacific Media Watch and the peer-reviewed research journal Pacific Journalism Review, founded at the (of Papua New Guinea ) in 1994.
